Tabrakan yang melibatkan 3 pembalap Marco Simoncelli, Colin Edwards dan Valentino Rossi mengakibatkan Simoncelli tidak dapat melanjutkann balapan, dan race kali ini juga dibatalkan. Sempat terjatuh dan tertabrak keras dari belakang membuat Helm Simoncelli terlepas, kondisinya kritis.
